Protest room

The Race-Trax Replay function can be used as a reference tool for any incident which has occurred during the day´s racing.  This can assist in the protest room or simply aid those, all important, post-race discussions. Replay data may be replayed using either the saved LIVE! Race Data File (at the pre-set over-the-air update rate) or using the logged tracker data. Enhanced Race Replay Files may quickly and simply be created from the stored data onboard each tracker. The advantage with recreating a Race Replay File is ;

1. Any `lost´ data due to a temporary data outage (GPRS mode) can be rebuilt from the on board tracker data.
2. The Replay Data File can be enhanced for the over-the-air transfer rate (1 or 2Hz) to onboard logging rate (e.g. : 20Hz).
   This enables data to be displayed LIVE! at 1 or 2Hz but replayed in a Protest Room at up to 20Hz. Data at 20 times per second coupled with accurate on course wind and mark information leaves nothing to debate !

Typically, a 49er at 20knots travels around 11 metres per second. Whereas typical tracking equipment provides position fixes at once per 5 to 20 seconds (producing definitive position reports between 55mtrs to 222mtrs apart), leaving the graphics engine to `render´  or 'best fit' the missing times in between (what is effectively, a `best guess´ approach), Race-Trax can provide data rates of 20 times per second = ½ metre position reports - even at high speeds !
